Connecticut's own Lime Rock Park is one of the oldest continually operating road racing venues in America. Opened in 1956, the track has long been a staple of the United States' premier road racing championships, including the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship's Northeast Grand Prix since 2015.

With seven corners and multiple long straightaways on its classic layout, Lime Rock Park is also one of the fastest road courses in North America. For that reason, it also features multiple chicanes that are occasionally used as part of different layouts to slow cars down. For its extensive history and iconic layout, the track was also added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
